Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're planning a west coast roadtrip for the last two weeks of July, so Lara can show Schuyler her favorite spots in L.A., Big Sur, and San Francisco, and Schuyler can show Lara his favorites in Portland and Washington. We'll be couchsurfing for the first time in Portland!

After getting back from our roadtrip, we will be moving to a new house where we look forward to being able to host for the first time. In the meantime we would love to share Tucson with you in other ways, whether it's taking you on a hike or to our favorite coffee shop.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We heard about CouchSurfing from our friend who offers a couch here in Tucson. Meeting some of her guests at a vegan lasagna dinner she hosted for our friends was interesting to say the least.

Music, Movies, and Books

Schuyler's favorite movies are The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Blade Runner, Primer, Alphaville, Lost in Translation, There Will be Blood, The Life Aquatic, Alien, Aliens, The Fantastic Mr. Fox...and many more. Lara's favorites are Playtime, I'm Not There, and documentaries about creative people (Helvetica, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton, The Five Obstructions).

Some of our favorite music is by Mason Jennings, Animal Collective, Fever Ray, Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, Sigur Ros, The Shins, CCR, and Bob Dylan. We also like to dance to dubstep!

Schuyler's favorite books are House of Leaves, Only Revolutions, The Stranger, Watchmen, Wild Sheep Chase, and A Scanner Darkly. Lara likes books with unique packaging like Things I Have Learned in My Life So Far by Stefan Sagmeister or Frank Gehry: On Line. She also enjoys having a ridiculous number of design books checked out from the school library.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lara can teach you a little about art and stuff, or lead a yoga session, and would like to learn how to sew better. And Schuyler can teach you why nerdy things are art, and about conspiracy theories!
