ABOUT ME

I am Lara, a french biologist working mainly on bird and bat population. Nowadays, I work in Kalmar in Sweden. Before I have been working during three years in New-Caledonia working on bats !
During my childhood, I have traveled a lot with my parents and my brothers, but I now do it by myself ! I spent an Erasmus year in Sweden, where I met a lot of people from everywhere in the world !
I practiced during 13 years Rhythmic Gymnastic, and now, I still enjoy sports such as hiking, dancing, swimming.
I was playing also guitar and piano, but today, I miss time for these activities. Instead, I read and I also knit from time to time !
I like juggling with friends, around a barbecue !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to travel with Couchsurfing because for me, it is a real way to meet local people. And this is very interesting to discover the "real" culture", the one that is more difficult to find during a short trip as a simple tourist. Also, I really enjoy when the host can do some outdoor activities in places that we could not have find without them. When I am hosted, I like either to cook some french food, or to offer a restaurant where we can eat local food.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have Couchsurfing experience in Norway, with two of my friends. In the countryside, I really enjoyed it because we did some hiking that we would not have done without the local people ! Otherwise, I found very interesting the discussion we had with our host, concerning the way they are living. In the cities, we were advised to go in some places to visit or to have a drink...and it is really easier to have some good addresses of restaurant or pub.
I have been also hosted via Couchsurfing in Vanuatu, and this was my best meeting in this country !
I was in Tasmania, Australia. I met a spanish guy thanks to a group of couch surfing, with who I travalled for one week ! Also, I have been at different hosts, and it has been a really good moment !
My last experience was in Tokyo, where I have been hosting thanks to a Russian couple. So they learnt me some stuff both about Japan and Russia !!

My favorite group is Pink Floyd ! Otherwise, I listen Police, Queen, Bob Dylan...or the french groups I listen are Saez, Matmatha, Tryo...I also love music movies, mainly from Hans Zimmer.
My favorite movies are The Lord of the Ring, Le Moulin Rouge and Tears of the Sun. And I am more and more interested in movies with historical moments.
