About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find a home in myself

ABOUT ME

I like to share, to keep things cheap and simple, I love to dress up, to invent games with the most ordinary things and I like cyncism - very much :-P

I would call myself a sociable person (mostly I get on well with pretty much everyone) but on the other hand I strongly need being alone and having experiences for just myself and I. Sometimes it's not quite easy to keep the balance between those two tendencies of mine - and actually in general, keeping balance is not my biggest strength :-P

PHILOSOPHY

Il faut passer par la tristesse pour arriver au bonheur. (I think that was in a french movie...)

Es handelt sich darum, alles zu leben.
Wenn man die Fragen lebt, lebt man vielleicht allmählich,
ohne es zu merken,
eines fremden Tages
in die Antworten hinein.
(Rainer Maria Rilke: Über die Geduld)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, hosting, talking, smiling, organising.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Too much.

Interests

I love studying and learning in general.... My biggest interest might be languages though. Recently I started to learn Turkish and to explore Turkish culture and history.
Well and I am also interested in politics but not really that who-is-minister-of-what-kind of politics but more general: to understand mechanisms in society and developments over generations.
Actually we could say my center of interest is unterstanding society maybe - and how we can change it :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of music and movies, I basically like most things from the 50s until 90s.
I love turkish and middle eastern music.
I don't read many books (because I am to much of an air zodiac for that, I guess :-P) BUT I do read lots of articles, news papers, etc. to keep myself updated.
I watch a turkish series (Leyla ile Mecnun) to learn the language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I generally travel with instruments (f.ex. melodica, xylophone, small drums, shakers, ...) and most hosts appreciate it, because I am not a professional musician (at all...) - I just "play", so basically everyone can participate and it's always fun!

Unfortunately, I don't cook (just doesn't give me pleasure), so please don't expect me to - Sorry about that ... :-(
I might bring something from the shop though or some typical Austrian sweets :-)
