About Me

Hi there :)
I am a happy, fun loving person who likes to get to know locals and share with hosts and other travellers. In summer 2016 I finished high school and decided to take a gap year before starting with university. I am currently in Costa Rica, volunteering at a dormitory for homeless people where I clean and wash, and at a school where I teach English. Both, working and living with a local family in Costa Rica has been an amazing experience so far and makes me want to continue traveling and learning. For 2017 I am planning to study the Korean language for a couple of months in Seoul, Korea. This has been a dream of mine for a long time, since my father's family is Korean.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I prefer to live and work with locals really, rather than staying at a hotel when traveling to other places, since I feel I get a much more authentic insight in a foreign culture from that. Also, when living with others you are never alone and I love the idea of sharing good moments with friendly people I don't know yet, but who will, eventually, become friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I enjoy many different genres. Norah Jones reminds me of my childhood, I adore Tracey Chapmans voice and message, and I love rap, "A Tribe Called Quest" being one of my all time favorite groups.

I read every day and like to read the historic novels of Ken Follet and loved reading Shakespeare and Steinbeck at school. It is impossible for me though, to make my mind up just which one is my favorite, there is so much great literature out there!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Languages, violin, crafting skills, drawing, cooking...
Learn: Open to (almost ;) ) everything
Share: Good moments

What I Can Share with Hosts

I play the violin and speak several languages fluently, so if you want to learn how to play the violin or learn some German, I would love to help you with that. I can of course also lend you a hand when it comes to washing, cleaning or gardening and I really enjoy cooking. Last but not least, I am a fairly active person and interested in all kind of things, I hope we will share some great moments together that will become beautiful memories.
