ABOUT ME

Hello- we are two bicycle tourers currently riding from Tucson to Florida, and eventually, we would like to go around the world on zee bikes.

We camp most of the time, but in more populated areas it is cooler to stay with people. It makes it easier to work on our website that way as well.

In the past, Lauren rode solo from Ohio to Arizona. Jared solo toured from Florida to Texas, then toured extensively around the southwest. We met in Tucson (where Lauren lived) and decided that each other is the ultimate touring buddy. We toured down the west coast together summer of 2008. Then in the February of 2009, we embarked on our current tour. Our blog http://www.wasitabatisaw.com/ details what is happening with our current travels.

We work, spend, and plan as little as possible.

We have covered quite a bit of ground and are meeting a lot of really great people everyday...Its been really fun.

Jared has about 790 experience points. He is almost a level 8 couch surfer. Lauren has "couchsurfed" extensively on her own, but is new to couchsurfing.com.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When Lauren was 16, she had corrective spinal surgery for scoliosis. She has a titanium rod in her back, which makes her a lot like Robocop.

When Jared was 19 he motorcycled 10,000 miles around the U.S. and Canada with a friend on the back.
(on a 1976 Honda Cb750f by the way)

Last winter Jared lived on an organic farm with his friends.

Bicycle touring is always amazing.
So far we have hit FL, GA, KY, AL, LA, MS, TX, NV, CA, OR, OH, IN, IL, MO, KS, OK, TX, TN, NM, WA, and AZ on bicycles. (considering a tattoo of the U.S. and getting states filled in as we go....like a motorhome...nevermind that's ridiculous)

We have been honing our bike touring and "freegan" living skills and know a bit about a lot of other things.
We love to learn how other people think, useful skills, or just FUN FACTS.
Learning seems like what life is all about.
Jared loves to record things with his field recorder.
(Its really cool!)
