About Me

I'm Larrissa from the United States and I'm slowly traveling my way around the world.

I'm currently ending almost a year of travel around Asia and trying to get settled into a life in Melbourne, Australia to work and live for awhile.

During my time in Asia, I learned mandarin Chinese, gained some bits of SE Asian and Indian languages, volunteered at home stays, hostels, farms, and schools, became a scuba diving divemaster, broke my knee and healed it, met some of the greatest people I've ever known (two of which will be moving to a Australia with me!), leaned a lifetime of lessons, laughed more than I knew a body could, and learned how to live and love in the simplest way.

Prior to traveling Asia, I spent six months working in Yosemite National Park. I am a passionate outdoor enthusiast and environmental advocate, feeling my happiest and most myself through whilst playing outside - on mountain tops, rock faces, underwater, on sand, on snow, and everywhere in between. I love to hike, climb, run, slackline, backpack, kayak, paddleboarding, swim, scuba dive, and spend my days sweaty and happy.

I also love to bake, cook, crochet, knit, do pottery, and make upcycled arts and crafts. Turning boring into beautiful is how we make the world more colorful and give it character. Additionally, I'm experienced in making homemade natural beauty products like soap, body butters, hair care, and household cleaners, and I would love to show you how to make these too if you are interested. We can bake, create, laugh, and spread more love.

I've not couchsurfed much but I've always hosted people on my couch or floor when I had my own to offer. I've been lucky enough to be invited into people's homes and share unforgettable experiences with them, and I want to carry this on in my life.
