I am retired, previously married and have 4 kids, three grown up and the youngest, Jake, is 16 and lives with me. Since I retired from my work in the Canadian Arctic (Inuit cooperatives and government) I took on some international volunteering (Malawi, Ethiopia, Vietnam) where I made contributions in the community economic development field. Also I have been doing a lot of adventure motorcycling in exotic locations around the globe, then writing them up for magazines. I recently completed my third book, first one historical fiction, and the second one about my adventure motorcycling around the world. I live on Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy, and it is very peaceful and close to nature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitch-hiked from Capetown, South Africa to Rhodesia in the late 70's when it was apartheid in South Africa and war-time in Rhodesia cum Zimbabwe. Amazing I survived all that. Hitch-hiked, jumped freights, and rode motorcycles through a good swath of our planet. Okay, I've taken a few plane rides too, and there was also some parachuting and risky business with my ultralight airplane.
