Présentation
À propos de moi
I'm 39, single and have no children. I'm working as journeyman electrician for a contractor that mainly does new construction but also sometimes does corporate remodels.
So aside from family camping trips as a kid and a trip to mexico in 2005, I've really only been travelling often since around 2009. I travel frequently in the United States, long weekends with the occasional week or month long road trip. I've been going to Riviera Maya and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico lust about every year lately. June and part of July 2019 I will be taking my first trip to Europe. I'll be spending 3 weeks in Spain on a solo trip and then meeting a friend for week in Lisbon.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and exploring places from the perspective of a local, rather than a tourist, and seeing how they live. Also it's a great way to force myself out of my comfort zone. I live with my brother who also has a couchsurfing profile and we've had people from Germany, Australia and someplace else that I don't recall at the moment and they were all great experiences and we've made life long friends out of it.
Centres d'intérêt
Camping and Backpacking: I camped a lot as a child in Wisconsin and since moving out to southern California have camped in some pretty beautiful places such as Sequoia, Pismo Beach, Joshua Tree and Yosemite. As far as backpacking goes I've never done longer than a two day trip but eventually I'd like to do the Pacific Crest Trail and the Appalachian.
I love seeing live music and usually go to 20-30 shows per year and I'd like to start going to more music festivals.
I love driving and recently bought my first newer car, a VW Golf TDI, that gets 6-700 miles out of a tank on the highway so whenever I have the time I'll drive to my destination if its within a 15-20 hour drive.
In my downtime at home I like to watch quality TV shows, usually hour long dramas.
I enjoy gardening quite a bit, particularly hot peppers. When I lived in Wisconsin I used to grow 20-25 plants consisting of several different varieties ranging from Jalapenos all the way up to ghost peppers. I'd dry and them crush them up and make a custom blend. I got a few of my friends addicted to that stuff and we were all sad when they ran out about a year ago. Now I live in the desert and they just don't grow well here. One of my goals is to eventually buy a piece of property in a fertile area with a climate well suited for growing peppers and produce them in larger quantities so I have enough of my pepper blend to sell at local stores and and farmers markets. And perhaps try my hand at making hot sauce as well.
