Music, Movies, and Books

I have a wide variety of tastes in movies, books and music. In regards to literature I truly enjoy elements of magic realism like Ben Okri's 'The Famished Road' and latin american authors Mario Vargas Llago and Gabriel Garcia Marques. I enjoy movies of most genres but in general do not enjoy American Hollywood audience-tested rubbish. I watch a lot of foreign film. Musically, I enjoy salsa and bits and pieces of dance, hip-hop, jazz, classical, rock etc. I rarely remember the names of artists or songs. I just enjoy it or don't.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow...there are too many moments like this. I guess, in a general sense, when I see the 'lights go on' in a student's eyes. There are many many awesome moments when teaching children. Also when I experience the generosity of those who have the least material possessions...it makes me feel extremely humbled. I would say that hiking in northern peru was an amazing experience I will never forget because it made me feel independent and brave and the landscapes were unlike any I had experienced up until that point in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning from people I meet incidentally. Sometimes I learn so many things about myself from listening to other people's experiences and how they react to them. It often works well with complete strangers. People can be like a mirror.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bulgaria, Ecuador, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
