About Me

🗺️ Hey there, I’m Claudia!

Recently moved from Iceland to Switzerland, swapped volcanoes and northern lights for cheese regulations and a national obsession with punctuality. Still trying to figure out where I belong (and how to recycle properly).

In the meantime, I believe the best part of travel isn’t the places, it’s the people, the unexpected chats, shared meals, the kind of moments that aren’t on any map.

So if you’re around and feel like hanging out, exchanging stories, or just making some memories without overplanning, I’m in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

An incredible experience! I've had the pleasure of meeting fascinating, kind, and wonderful people, and those memories are cherished within me.

Interests

I find joy in cooking it’s like my love language. The forest is where I feel most alive. Hiking is my thing; it just makes life better. I’m also into keeping healthy, exploring psychology, and mindfulness, staying active with sports, and diving into books, especially reports. Let’s share stories over a delicious meal or a hike :)

Recently, I've also started bouldering and I'm a newbie there, but absolutely loving it. Additionally, sea swimming in Iceland has been a discovery and adventure for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love movie classics 'Good Will Hunting,' 'Dead Poets Society,' 'Forrest Gump,' 'The Green Mile,' 'The Godfather.'

I have a diverse taste in music, finding myself drawn to different genres and styles depending on my mood and the situation. I enjoy catching the vibes rather than following one particular artist or style.

When it comes to books, I have a deep admiration for the works of Tiziano Terzani.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started solo-traveling in Europe between 2006 and 2013, sleeping on floors, catching cheap buses, and saying “yes” more often than not. In 2014, I set off to Malaysia for a month, followed by Laos in 2015. A year later, I joined a meditation retreat with monks in the Golden Triangle (Northern Thailand), which shifted something in me.

In 2017, I quit my job, packed a backpack, and traveled through Southeast Asia volunteering, exploring, and connecting with people across Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
Then came India in 2019: yoga, meditation, and a massage course in Rishikesh a whirlwind of color, chaos, and clarity.

Iceland was home after that for a while. Now, Switzerland is the new terrain I’m navigating, curious to see what unfolds.

Teach, Learn, Share

With years of experience in tourism, hospitality and retreat organization, I’ve developed a knack for turning everyday moments into meaningful experiences. Whether it’s cooking together, practicing languages, meditating, or just having a deep conversation I love creating spaces where people feel seen and inspired.

Mental well-being and personal growth are at the heart of my life. I’ve completed a year-long program in Resilience & Mental Well-being, and my passion for psychology, self-awareness and emotional resilience keeps evolving. I believe that honest conversations can be transformative so if you’re into exploring the inner world as much as the outer one, we’ll get along just fine.

I can also help you plan your dream trip to Iceland, find the best hiking trails, or simply enjoy a mindful coffee break. Let’s share stories, ideas, and perspectives and make every encounter count.
