Overview
About Me
Hey, I’m Claudia.
For years I lived and worked across Europe – Iceland, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and – mostly organizing people, projects and retreats around psychology, mindfulness and hospitality. Somewhere between volcanoes in Iceland and hotel operations, I realized life had become a bit too structured… so I pressed reset.
Now I’m slowly traveling through Asia. I started in India and Sri Lanka, and I’m wandering my way through places like Korea, Japan and Malaysia, trying to experience each place through people rather than checklists.
For me Couchsurfing isn’t about a free couch. It’s about the stories you only hear at someone’s kitchen table, the late conversations, learning how life actually feels in a place.
I’m curious about people, cultures, psychology and the strange paths that lead us where we are.
What I can bring:
• I cook pretty well (Italian genes help)
• I speak a few languages
• I’m always happy to help with projects related to retreats, hospitality, psychology or mindfulness
• good conversations and a slightly chaotic life story
If you feel like sharing a meal, stories, or just showing me your favorite corner of the city – I’m in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
An incredible experience! I've had the pleasure of meeting fascinating, kind, and wonderful people, and those memories are cherished within me.
Interests
I find joy in cooking it’s like my love language. The forest is where I feel most alive. Hiking is my thing; it just makes life better. I’m also into keeping healthy, exploring psychology, and mindfulness, staying active with sports, and diving into books, especially reports. Let’s share stories over a delicious meal or a hike :)
Recently, I've also started bouldering and I'm a newbie there, but absolutely loving it. Additionally, sea swimming in Iceland has been a discovery and adventure for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love movie classics 'Good Will Hunting,' 'Dead Poets Society,' 'Forrest Gump,' 'The Green Mile,' 'The Godfather.'
I have a diverse taste in music, finding myself drawn to different genres and styles depending on my mood and the situation. I enjoy catching the vibes rather than following one particular artist or style.
When it comes to books, I have a deep admiration for the works of Tiziano Terzani.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My relationship with travel started long before it was called “solo travel”.
Between 2006 and 2013 I wandered around Europe with very little money, sleeping on floors, taking night buses, and saying “yes” to things more often than I probably should have.
In 2014 I left Europe for the first time and spent a month in Malaysia. Laos followed in 2015. A year later I joined a meditation retreat with monks in the Golden Triangle in northern Thailand. That experience shifted something in me.
In 2017 I quit my job, packed a backpack and spent few months moving through Southeast Asia – volunteering, learning, and meeting people in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia.
India came later, in 2019. Rishikesh, yoga, meditation and a massage course. Chaos, color, spirituality and a lot of questions.
Iceland became home for several years after that. I’ve spent also almost a year in Switzerland.
Now I’m back on the road in Asia, moving slowly, following curiosity more than plans, and seeing where the journey takes me next.
Teach, Learn, Share
With years of experience in tourism, hospitality and retreat organization, I’ve developed a knack for turning everyday moments into meaningful experiences. Whether it’s cooking together, practicing languages, meditating, or just having a deep conversation I love creating spaces where people feel seen and inspired.
Mental well-being and personal growth are at the heart of my life. I’ve completed a year-long program in Resilience & Mental Well-being, and my passion for psychology, self-awareness and emotional resilience keeps evolving. I believe that honest conversations can be transformative so if you’re into exploring the inner world as much as the outer one, we’ll get along just fine.
I can also help you plan your dream trip to Iceland, find the best hiking trails, or simply enjoy a mindful coffee break. Let’s share stories, ideas, and perspectives and make every encounter count.
