I have worked with children ever since I left school, mostly pre-school age and I absolutely loved it. Things I have learnt from children over the years:

Love others how you wish to be loved
Everyone is a friend
We are all equal, and no one person is better than another
Girls can play in dirt and with cars
Always share your toys but not food (toddlers do not share food)
