About Me

I'm just starting in the medical school at University of British Columbia this September, after doing a 4 year undergrad at Simon Fraser University (both in Vancouver).
I grew up in Ontario until the end of high school, then moved right out to the west coast on my own for some independence and adventure! I definitely am not a fan of Vancouver's weather (rain, rain, rain, rain, rain), but totally in love with the mountains :) as of January I'll be heading to UBC's Okanagan campus for the best of both worlds!

I spent this past summer travelling South America for a break between degrees, and had an absolutely amazing adventure. I love the backpacker culture of fast friendships, sharing view and experiences, and the willingness to connect with anyone and everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love adventuring, but hotels aren't very adventurous or exciting considering they're pretty much the same generic sort of design anywhere you go!
The best thing about exploring new places is getting to know the life, culture, issues and advantages of being there, not just passing through. Making a connection with people, wherever you go, is definitely the most valuable way to experience a new place.

Interests

I love doing anything outdoors - hiking, snowboarding, paddleboarding, horseback riding, soccer, volleyball, etc.
I trained in karate for about 9 years and still continue with fitness kickboxing now. I'm really into exercise and working out in general, just to be fit and feel awesome!

Definitely helps that I like exercising since the next favourite interest of mine is food. I absolutely love trying any new foods, and enjoy creating my own new dishes and baked goods as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share discussions, ideas and food. Especially food. And recipes, although I don't really follow recipes. Cooking is more of a 'choose your own adventure' game for me.
