I m Laura, 25 years old, I come from Bordeaux but I have been living in Paris for 5 years now. I am doing a PhD in biology studying resistance to chemotherapy in breast cancer. Later I would like to do academic research abroad as research is really complicated in France.. To begin, I would like to do my first post doctorate in the USA, hopefully in New York City (where I did a 6 month internship already) if I manage to convince my boyfriend which is in love with San Francisco :p He is a 24 year old engineer in cybersecurity, he is the one that introduced me to couchsurfing (Philippe Laporte you can check his profile ;) ) and now we are hosting together since we moved in in our new appartement in February 2018.
I love travelling, meeting new people and discovering new cultures. I have traveled a lot in Europe and America, next step will probably be Asia with Bali or Japan :) :)
I work a lot for my PhD and often finish work quite late but I m free most week ends and can arrange my schedule during the week to spend more time with my guests :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing to meet new people and learn more about their cities/countries and way of life in general. I have just started hosting people in my appartement in Paris and I have also been a guest in the US through my boyfriend profile during one of our road trip there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived 6 month in NYC for my master internship in NYU Langone Medical Center. It was an incredible experience, I loved the city and the people there. I also took advantage of the situation to discover more about the US, I visited Miami, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the beautiful parks of the west coast!
It was amazing and I can’t wait to live in the US again!
