Overview
About Me
Hey, I’m Laura - a 27 year old British girl living out of a backpack since November 2023. After graduating university and working in healthcare for three years, I decided to leave the (somewhat culturally sheltered) UK and visit Southeast Asia for a few months…. Which has now turned into working and travelling outside of the UK for years. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering in some countries which has shown me the importance of building connections and giving back when travelling.
Aspects of travel which are important to me: sharing experiences with others, constantly learning about different cultures across the globe, stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things, making memories, experiencing nature, trekking, and giving back to the community. For now, I aim to continue my ‘nomadic’ lifestyle and enjoy building connections and sharing with others along the journey that is life :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my favourite moments of travelling are settling into a homestay and sharing experiences together with locals and other travellers. I am hoping to continue these types of experiences by travelling through Couchsurfing - learning about new cultures and meeting awesome people along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste changes frequently as I discover new music from around the globe - I am constantly searching for new music. I love to enjoy live music especially with other people🪩
Movie favourites are Studio Ghibli films and Disney movies like Cars (best film ever) - I love the lightheartedness yet deeper meanings. Although, I tend not to watch movies or read often as I prefer to connect to people in person.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently climbed the highest volcano in Southeast Asia to fundraise for cancer research🫶🌋
Teach, Learn, Share
Life for me is about constantly learning new things! I love to share music, food, stories, and games with others. I’ve had pleasure of teaching English as a volunteer and would always gladly teach others in language exchange. Otherwise, I can teach you how to juggle (just about)? 🤹♀️
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can gladly prepare vegetarian dishes for the host.
I can share some Turkish tea with the host, as I carry this with me wherever I go🫖
I can offer my company when exploring the host’s city/town and I would love to share memories with hosts through discussions about life and previous travels :)
I love board games, so I can share my skills by playing with/against the host.
I could also share a few quirky games! Including the mind game♠️♥️♣️♦️
I also like to help out with cleaning etc for the host where I can, to show respect for inviting me into their home.
