CURRENT MISSION

I'm moving to New York City in 5 months and my goal is couch surf my way up, down and all around Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens in the search of home. I've been to NYC before and stayed in Tirllionsburg and the LES, I had an AMAZING experience but I want to explore more options and meet more people before I set up shop. I've just been granted permanent residency so I want to integrate as much as possible and settle in an area that has an awesome community and full of good vibes.

ABOUT ME

I'm an ex fashion buyer turned photographer, globe trotter at heart and always wanting to gain inspiration and experience through music, culture, food, design and good people =)

I'm a free spirited, open minded and spontaneous individual with a bit of a sassy say-it-how-it-is attitude. I try to live life to the absolute fullest and am a firm believer in in the 'jump off the cliff and build the plane on the way down' mantra. I may or may not say the word yolo... Probably too much.

I actually couch surfed a bit through europe, but i can't remeber my password to my old profile and my old email address is loooooong gone so it's fresh profile for a fresh start!

I love couch surfing, I can honestly say I've only ever had good experiences. People are so giving and open on the basis that they were once hosted and are returning the gift. I got to cook with my hosts, have late nights with wine and sore bellies from laughter, been given personal tours around the cities hot spots, introduced to friends and invited to gathering as well as absolutely set up with comfortable accommodation and amenities. I don't think i could go back to hostels or hotels ever again!

Intereses

Music!!! Soul/Blues anything Staxx ever released I pretty much LOVE. When I'm in my beach shack in NZ I'll probably put Studio One Records on because it's only appropriate. Funk and Disco for a saturday night with my ladies but the reeeeal booty shaker for me is hip hop. I'm a massive hip hop fan (by hip hop I don't mean Jay Z or Beyonce). But of course I'll listen to anything so if you want to introduce me to your indie rock/acoustic albums then go right ahead! I love more than anything to connect with someone through music =)

I'm from NZ so I love love LOVE getting out into nature, and try to be as holistic as possible.

LOOOOOVE cooking and especially entertaining/sharing my creations with friends, couch surfers or anyone that will let me jump at the chance.

Running & dance are very important to me as is general health and fitness.

I hate being stuck in front of a computer or indoors for too long, I am adventurous and spontaneous, change my mind like my underwear, yet always have a clear vision of exactly what i want haha.....maybe contradictory at times. I enjoy any form of creativity especially collaborating and bouncing ideas of other like minded people.

I just like to surround myself with good people and good vibes and anything that involves laughter I'm into.

Music welllllllllll, we have covered that right? We can name drop our fave artists when we meet =)

Movies: hmmmmm I just saw the The Wolfpack and it was the best film I've seen in AGES! I love classic 90's flicks but can't go past a good doco.

Books: I'm a bit of a loser in this department and only read educational stuff. Like I've just read a book on Marketing in the 2000's and before that one on Small Business Management and before that one on body language. But for fun I sometimes read Mills & Boon novels - soooo cheesy but soooo good!

Ran 15kms along the Amalfi coast in Italy, and ate a biiiig bowl of pasta afterwards =)
