About Me

What's written here is mostly trivia. Fortunately this section is called "about me" and not "who I am"!

I'm French and I currently live in Sheffield. I coordinate a nonprofit, organic veg shop and do a lot of volunteering, which takes a lot of time and energy but you meet so many incredible people that I go on doing it.

I feel awkward on photos, so I jump or I make a weird face. Then I usually feel more natural. :D

I don't do very well with technology. So far I feel better around humans, pens and paper.

I still follow a lot of the codes of our society but I gradually try and disentangle myself from some of them. There's many things to say about that but I don't need the internet to know all my thoughts either so just ask me about gender or consumption and we can share our thoughts on that..:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I like to meet people, share experiences, knowledge and happiness...and..I prefer meeting people than watching tv in a hotel bedroom. The few experiences I've had as a guest have been little revolutions in the way I travel and consider the places where I go. It's a superb experience in trust and discovery. Now I would like to welcome people in my house too. So if anyone fancies the world-famous, gorgeous architecture of the Sheffield city centre (or, more probably, the Peak District and the local crafts beers)..!

Interests

A few things I am passionate about: travelling, hiking, reading, food, talking about the environment, learning about history and cooking. I love being outdoors and trying to improve my poor knowledge of trees and all other kinds of plants. I've studied a bit of history (still do), mostly about Britain and the USA, but am always curious about knowing more, starting with my own country... and the rest of the world. The more I learn, the more I find there is so much more to learn. That's the same with books, travelling, and probably everything else in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, but I am especially keen on folk music. Slightly terrified of horror movies. I still believe that RRRrrr is a masterpiece of French cinema. I have a long list of books I would like to read one day.
I'm ever so glad someone put The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy into my hands one day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

eeeeeeeeerm... just living is pretty amazing! If you can "do" a festival, then I've "done" Beltane in Edinburgh and that was quite amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Apparently I can teach a bit of French! But what I really enjoy is teaching and learning cooking recipes, sharing meals, sharing thoughts about the world, getting into philosophical discussions, dancing with people etc. And you can do all of these at the same time! Isn't that wonderful?
