About Me

My name is Laura, I am 29 years old and live in the middle of the beautiful mountains from Valais in Switzerland.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Before starting with my Master Degree, I went back to the U.S. to visit friends I made during my exchange year 10 years ago. I travelled during 4 months, from Ohio to Cali and made my way up to the North! What an amazing trip with amazing people I met on CS or throughout the trip.

Interests

I am a big music listener from reggae and blues to trap hiphop.
I am also really into sport and outdoor. I'm a huge snowboard fan and have been snowboarding since I'm 8 now, taking part to many freestyle comp as I was younger and now organising freestyle event in my home resort as well as enjoying some freeride time when the snow is abundant enough.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music right now would be Action Branson (album: "Blue Chip 2") or John River (album: "The Storm" and "The Calm")

Favorite movies: "Cadillac Records" or "What happened Miss Simone ?". Big documentaries fan.

Books: recently read "The martian" by Andy Weir.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left my family to fly to the U.S. as I was 16 and studied in Rocky River High School (OH) for one year

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a very positive human being, always trying to see the bright side of things. I find it very difficult to stay close to people seeing only the negative sides and complaining all the time. It just uses your energy. So be a smiling, open-minded and fun person and there is no reason we won't get along :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could teach you how to make a good cheese fondue or raclette: our swiss specialities. I can teach you the Swiss culture and tell you more about our 4 national languages (french, swiss german, italian and "rumantsch"). I am also willing to help you improve or learn french or german if you'd like :)

I grew up in a part of Switzerland where wine is very important. I enjoy having a glass with friends and could explain to you more about the art of oenology.
