Overview
About Me
I'm originally from Chicago, moved to Santa Barbara, CA for school, stayed quite a while, and then moved to LA about 5-years ago. I live for being outdoors and all things athletic! Some of my favorites are volleyball, running, hiking, skiing, crossfit, yoga, paddle boarding and kayaking. I'm not a partier, but I do enjoy happy hours and wine/beer/spirit tastings.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just decided to take a year off of work to travel the world, and a friend of mine introduced me to this site and highly encouraged me to join! I enjoyed hosting prior to my takeoff - it provides a cultural exchange right here at home that is usually only experienced while travelling. It also motivated me to explore all of the great things that LA has to offer that I usually don't partake in. I look forward to hosting again when I return from my trip! During my travels, I'm excited to meet other like minded people around the world and learn about their communities via their local lens. I find that experiencing the culture of a place via interaction with locals is the best way to travel - as opposed to only following the typical tourist route. I always try to learn at least a little bit of the local language wherever I go.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy modern and alternative rock... and anything other than U.S. style country music. I curiously like to listen to electronic music while working out, but am not into the scene surrounding it much at all. I don't watch many movies, but when I do, I prefer action or comedy. Most of my recreational reading is related to guides on where I'm going to travel or some new (or even ages old) scientific or psychological theories.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Estonia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden
