Overview
About Me
Hello! I am an American living in Nantes, France this year as an English teaching assistant. I'm originally from California, and spent the last four years in Chicago studying history. I hope to travel a lot while I'm here in Europe, and I hope to meet a lot of new people as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, to make friends, and to share experiences! I barely know anyone in Europe, let alone France, and so meeting new people, and cultural exchange is high on my list of priorities. I want to travel authentically, I don't usually have a big interest in doing tourist thing or visiting classic tourist places, and what better way to live like a local than to stay with a local? I hope to share my interests and culture with others too, and to form meaningful contacts all over the world! And it couldn't hurt to practice my french :)
Interests
I really enjoy live music, eating delicious food, reading, practicing yoga, and being outside as much as possible, whether that is in nature or if it's sitting reading a novel at a cafe. I'm rather introverted so I do like quiet time to myself, but I also really enjoy meeting new people and having shared experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a lot of different music depending on my mood. I tend to listen to a lot of jazz, indie, punk, and music from the 80s. I really like the music scenes in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Chicago.
Favorite movie is TBD, I have to think about it :)
Favorite books are the Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, Watchmen by Alan Moore, and the Stranger by Albert Camus.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've gone night swimming in the Pacific Ocean on the Fourth of July, while watching fireworks go off in the distance!
