About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
I'm easy going, friendly, caring and I love good company. I'm the ultimate foodie.. I grow my own herbs on the window and I cook from scratch almost everything. I'm always happy to learn new tricks from other traditions and foreigner cuisines.

I love travelling and meeting new people and it's easy getting along with me. I'm a warm and loyal person, thoughtful and with a unique sense of humor. I appreciate a sassy joke or politically incorrect.
I like stand-up comedies and everything that tick my mind and make me laugh at the same time.

My retirement plan is getting a disrupted building, re-building it and make a B&B out of it. Maybe in Scotland.
I dream about having my friends and enlarged family over visiting from all over the world. Being the lady with the dog preparing cookies..

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Mark Twain

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited the Forbidden City in Beijing. It was breathtaking.

I saw Berlin East and West in 1990, one year after the fall of the Wall...the scar of history.

I experienced winter in Montreal, Canada. In January 2013 at some point the temperature dropped at -39 °C

I was living in U.K. while the Brexit vote was taken.

I saw Jack Nicholson in a limo in Rome and Paris Hilton in New York out of a club.

I got published for a book about shipwrecks between '500 and 2000. Researching old documents and reading so many adventures and the struggles of so many was really eyes-opening. We take for granted way too much.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Italian and English in exchange for French.
I'm a total beginner, but I love Russian culture and Russian language.

I'm a complete disaster in DIY but I would love to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A 'homey' environment, good food and a safe and quiet accommodation. I have a car here in UK, so probably I can offer a lift, if it's needed.

My home is LGBT and poly friendly. I get along easily with open-minded and self-aware people.

Note: I'm not interested in hook-ups. So, please, to guys that are looking for that, no judgement, but abstain from asking me to be hosted/meet up. I'm interested in making friends and to make an extended web of people that can make my travelling more interesting and less 'turistic'.
