About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring the world!

ABOUT ME

Hi guys,

My name is Laura and I am 24! I just graduaded as a business engineer after an increasing year abroad. I love moving to new places and stay there for a while so I have enough time to discover the culture and meet people.

PHILOSOPHY

Believe in yourself! It may sound a little silly but I really think it's true. It's important to grab opportunities, even though they may seem scary sometimes. Go for you ideas and goals. Be motivated by everyting you undertake. The only person stopping you is yourself!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have heard of this concept while I was in Berlin. It was very popular among American students. But it is only until recently that I have met people very involved in this and this is how I joined the CS community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I am still a student and since I am moving to different city almost every year, I haven't had the chance to settle yet and to be able to host people properly. But as soon as I'll have my own permanent apartment I'll do my best to host people. Now as a couchsurfer, I have done it for the first when travelling in Vietnam and I loved it. I cannot wait for the next opportunity to do it again!

Interests

-Travelling, travelling, travelling & meeting people. I have been to many places in Europe when I was a kid. I am very lucky to have great grandparents&parents who took me on vacation every summer. Then, when I got older I started travelling on my own and now every time I have been to a new country/place, I want even more. I really believe that the best way to understand people is by being immersed in their culture.

-I enjoy going to concerts and festivals, especially in the summer. It feels like being on vacation. You meet people from everywhere while listening to great music. Lots of nice memories there!

-I also enjoy going to the cinema to see all kind of movies. I am not very picky and I don't pretend to be a specialist. I just think it's a pleasant activity you can do with pretty much everyone.

-I love spending time with my friends, going out for dinner or for drinks, talking about stupid things, laughing and and having fun.

-I like to do sports. Last year I ran 20km in Paris, it was a great experience. Everyone is cheering up everyone one, there are bands everywhere, you see the city from a totally different perspective and finally you feel so proud to make it. I also like to swim, it makes me feel relaxed after a busy day. Going on ski vacation is one of my favorite time of the year. The landscape is beautiful and the feeling of climbing down the mountains is indescribable. It makes you feel alive!

-I think I can also say that food is one my interests. I love discovering new type of food, especially when I am abroad. I also enjoy making dinner with my friends/family. I think that it is a way of sharing great moments!

One Amazing Thing I've Done

In October I went to Lombok, one of the Island of Indonesia. I went trekking in the mountains (Mt. Rinjani) and spent a night there. The view at the rim was unbelievable: a vulcano in the middle of a huge lake. We shared this experience with great local people taking care of us and with foreigners like me. Probably the most amazing thing I have done so far.

As I said earlier, running 20km in the empty streets of Paris is also something I am proud of!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about my country, my language, my culture. I can share with you my previous experiences, tell you the places I have been to and the people I have met. I also would like to hear yours, know where you come from and what you like in life.

Actually it has nothing to do with culture but I am a personal tutor back home. My student job is to help students from High Scool and University to succeed at school. I have taught sevreal subjects so far. The one I am the best at is languages.
