About Me
ABOUT ME
Hum... Well if try and sum up my way of life, I would say I keep on questionning what is most important for me in order to make choices and take steps. Lastly the biggest change for me has been to turn from being a consultant in water services into becoming... a cook! So this is how I proceed : try and see what I really want to do and why (oftentimes an ever harder question to solve!) and then take steps! But that's a difficult way to strive!
Apart from that, well hopefully my friends would say I am cheerful and open-minded !
PHILOSOPHY
Whow whow whow I don't like very much this idea of having one's own philosophy. Let's say that I try to bear in mind that I have been quite lucky so far, and that I try to make the most of it by enjoying everyday. Apart from that, I should note that I like straightforwardness in my relationships with other people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, I have never been hosted as a couchsurfer, nor did I host guests, but I think it is a friendly concept. If host and guests get along well, I am glad to share some time chatting or visiting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None yet! But one day, while I was cycling, I got lost and I had to ask my way to a woman living nearby. It was rather late in the day and she offered me a snack in her home, which I found quite unexpected and nice! I hope I will be able to render the same kind of service myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
Pffiou this reminds me of when we were kids and we always started by these questions when meeting somebody.
Ok let's try: movies: well the latest I've seen is an Iranian film called "Women without men" and I found it quite good. The other coming to my mind are The hours, Match point ; Dogville ; Goodbye Lenin ; Volver and...Notting hill and Bridget Jones' diary (OK I know these are not excellent ones but hey, I just said I LIKED them, not that they are supposed to be a must).
Music: well it depends on the moment of the day. What I listen to most time is jazz, soul, folk and pop-rock. For example the latest CDs I bought are Edouard Bineau's WARED (jazz pianist) and Steeve Laffont (jazz guitarist). Then I also listen to the crap we hear on NRJ and Fun radio and so on, usually when I'm driving or when I go dancing at night.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing I remember as a peculiar and funny travel memory was a trip to some remote part of Kenya. I was with a friend and after the beautiful but somewhat overly scheduled safaris, we wanted to plan the rest of the trip on our own, and possibly find some "offtrack spots". We actually did, as we arranged to rent a car to go to a lake that was said to be "a destination surprisingly bypassed by tourists" according to the Lonely Planet and the Guide du routard. We had tried to gather info in Nairobi before getting to Lake Natron, as the books remained very vague as to accomodation details. As we departed from Nairobi, we had been unable to know for sure whether there would be hostels of any kind there... Lake Natron's water is actually used by a private company to make glass out of soda. The land that surrounds belongs to that British company, and we ended up sleeping in the workers' dormitory!! We even shared breakfast with them at the plant's restaurant. It felt as if in a TV report on industries in Africa!!
