About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live would be an awfully big adventure ~Peter Pan

ABOUT ME

First thing I suppose you should know is that I'm an extroverted introvert; I crave adventure and love meeting new people and experiencing new things, but I also require a bit of quiet time to myself. I'm told I'm a passionate person, and the things I'm most passionate about are the environment, art, and animals, although my interests cover a wide range. I consider myself very reliable, trustworthy, and honest, and I find myself trying to uphold the world to a certain degree of fairness (this has gotten me in trouble w/ professors before...).
I love silly things and having a reason to laugh. I enjoy intelligent arguments and witty conversation (wow that makes me sound like some sort of adult or something...). I have many goals of all shapes and sizes including: make a fedora from scratch, create a functional glass guitar, and to bike across the United States (from coast to coast!) someday.

PHILOSOPHY

my personal philosophy is a complicated and evolving thing. Lets talk if you're interested. In the mean time, the best I can sum up my personal philosphy is as follows:

"To live would be an awfully big adventure" ~Peter Pan

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently am not participating a whole lot, unfortunately, due to some life circumstances that require my attention and time. Once life gets settled though I'd like to open my couch to surfing once again and also to start attending more of the CS events that happen around my parts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've attended a couple couch surfing events (get togethers) and have also had a couple people stay with me. I've enjoyed meeting everyone I've met and am hoping to get more involved in couch surfing in the near future.

Interests

With the right spin, I could be interested in anything. But here's some things I don't need a spin to be interested in: art (drawing, painting, watercolor, glass-blowing, metal-working, sculpture, collage, photography, sewing, knitting, etc), reading (especially fantasy), guitar, piano, music in general, downhill skiing, biking, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, hiking, backpacking, slacklining, volleyball, badminton, angling, cooking and baking (cullinary adventures!), writing (poetry especially), words in general (I even like to edit people's papers--although I'm a terrible speller and would be at a loss w/o spellchecker!), and... that's a good list for now.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are songs that I love in all genres of music.
Some of my favorite artists include the Barenaked Ladies, Armin van Buuren, Queen, Billy Joel.

I love movies and spend WAY too much money on DVDs. I'm a big fan of adventure, drama, sci-fi movies and also really enjoy strange films and REALLY bad movies (like Underworld!). Romance flicks can get on my nerves and I don't do horror (i have an over-active imagination... which doesn't mix well w/ horror).

I'm a Harry Potter nerd (and proud of it!). I also really enjoy the Song of Ice and Fire series. Some other interesting books I've read include Stiff, Into Thin Air, Wicked (and all other books by that author), the Harafish, etc etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was chased by a bear (sort of) in Glacier National Park

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of cooking and baking (a fun example is how to make sushi) and would love to learn new ethnic dishes.
I'd love to share my experience, knowledge, and philosophies pertaining to art (especially glass blowing!)!
I know some good card and board games if you're into that.
I'm always up for learning new things, in particular I'd really like to learn how to speak German and would like to improve my spanish.
