About Me
Hi, I'm Laura. Just some random facts about me and things I like to do:
I love everything connected to the ocean and beach, I'm coffee addicted; not a real morning person; I love to cook and bake; in April I'll start my master's program in Business Ethics and CSR-Management; Sundays in bed with a great book are one of my favorite things, besides of drinking wine with friends on my balcony in summer or walking home early in the morning after a party and be the first one in the bakery who buys a chocolate croissant; checking out cafes and bookstores, meet new people and get to know them, their ideas and lifestyles better... Okay, I better stop it here before I start with my annoying habits
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I haven't tried Couchsurfing so far. At least not with this website. Most of the time I was lucky to find a couch or free sleeping space at a friend's house . My roommate and me like to have guests as well and we often have a full house. I always loved that kind of traveling and I met some great and diverse people over the last years. I'm not a big fan of anonymous hotel rooms and prefer to stay at someone's private house and have a nice conversation over the first morning coffee/ tea / chocolate or what else. Thanks to my past hosts I got to know some great places all over the world, which I wouldn't have seen as a "usual" tourist.
I like to show someone my favorite places of Dresden or my hometown Lübeck and see how they start to fall in love with these cities. The spontaneity of this kind of traveling is great. Of course you can't know if you'll like each other, but often my Couchsurfing likely experiences ended up in doing a lot of fun and unexpected things together like going on a hike, listen to a privat concert in someone's flat or have a picnic in a park.
As a matter of fact I don't know a lot of people in the U.S. and thought that this is a great opportunity to finally try Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Really not easy to answer.
Let's start with my childhood fave book "Pippi Longstocking on the Seven Seas" by Astrid Lindgren. I still have an old copy on my bedside table. Followed by Harry Potter and novels as well as poems by Erich Kästner. Lately I enjoyed reading "The Girls" by Emma Clineand ", Winternähe" by Mirna Funk and "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr.
Movies: "the white ribbon" and "Oh Boy" are two of my favorite german movies. Most of the coen brothers movies (especially Llewyn Davis and Fargo) and films by Wes Anderson (Grand Budapest Hotel is my favorite)
I'm currently listening a lot to "Austra", "Cigarettes after sex" and "the acid"and "Bee Gees" for cleaning
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Didn't drink coffee for two whole days! (and hated it)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you how to bake a typical german bread with lots of seeds and as dark as possible.
Beside that, I can share my favorite cafes, book, places and vintage shops of the cities and places I have visited so far.
