About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do things I've never done before and to get out of my self-imposed "boxes".

ABOUT ME

I try to avoid defining myself in a way or another, because I believe that this creates too many limitations and interior conflicts.

I like to live without knowing the stakes of what I do, despite the fact that I think very much of the consequences. I think that when I know the stakes (of a relationship, an event, a meeting, etc.) for my future, I tend to behave unnaturally. And all I get in an unnatural way not really suits me. And I think that if we are always trying to get inappropriate things, we end up having a life which doesn’t suit us, even if it’s exactly what we’ve wanted ... and will almost certainly be unhappy.

PHILOSOPHY

Let's start with something that I consider applicable for any human being, in any context ... like the basic karma "laws" :) :

Whatever you put out in the Universe, it will come back to you.
Whatever surrounds you gives you clues to your inner state.
What you refuse to accept will continue for you. / What you resist persists.
Wherever you go, there you are (and you will have the same category of issues ;) ). Your life changes only when you change yourself.
Whenever there is something wrong in your life, there is something wrong in you.
What you see in others shows your level of existence.
History repeats itself until you learn the lessons that you need to change your path.

Or briefly said - Be the change that you want to see in the world! (M. Gandhi) ... because all you meet outside is the reflection of what you have inside...

Otherwise I think there are no good or bad things you do in life, there are only appropriate or inappropriate things ... for you, for the culture you belong to, for the education that was offered to you and so on. And it is important to analyze (never to judge!!!) the others according to their contexts of belonging, and not according to your contexts. Similarly, it is important to analyze yourself depending on your coordinates and paradigms, and not according to the opinion that the majority around you has, at a time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some nice guys in Bucharest and went out for a drink.
I was hosted by an amazing Serbian person, in Belgrade, for a weekend. :)

Interests

- to establish authentic connections with people from all over the world;
- training, public speaking, psychology, philosophy, books;
- dancing (salsa world), traveling, music (oldies);

-people who know themselves at least a little bit, people who realize they are not the center of the world and that not everything is about them, who can sincerely accept different perspectives, who can stand silence sometimes and who don't feel the obligation to fill a healthy silence with small talking, tiring for everybody; people who laugh a lot and have a very developed sense of humor; people who don't talk in cliches; people who can communicate with others non-verbally and who can say more than what they did in this life ... maybe what they understood, what is relevant for the other or anything else that can be named real communication and not just noise. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books

Literature: "Crime and Punishment" - Dostoievski (and all his other books), "Decisive Moments in History" - Stefan Zweig, "1984" - George Orwell, "The Agony and the Ecstasy" - Irving Stone, "The Most Beloved Earthling" - Marin Preda.

Psychology and Personal Development: "What Do You Say After You Say Hello" & "Games People Play" - Eric Berne, "You Are OK, I Am OK" - Thomas Harris, "If Only I'd Listen to Myself" - Jacques Salome, "Emotional Intelligence" - Daniel Goleman, "The Road Less Traveled" - Scot Peck, "A New Earth" - Eckhart Tolle.

Books about the "Romanian soul", written by Constantin Noica (my favourite author) and Mircea Vulcanescu.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, an amazing moment is when I establish a true and deep connection with another person, even if it's just for some seconds or hours. And I felt this several times. :)

I sustained 6 weeks of training sessions (on personal development) with a group of inmates, in a Romanian prison for men. It was my best work experience and my exam as a trainer. I learned by doing how to earn their trust and their respect, how to adapt the knowledge and principles that I wanted to transmit to their contexts and how to make them choose to change something in their attitude and behavior... I think it was amazing the fact that I really could see things through their eyes, I could understand and accept them. And I think this is the only way in which you can change somebody ... accept him/her entirely, trust him/her and he/she will maybe decide to change!

Teach, Learn, Share

I observe a lot of things in others and they usually say that I'm right. :) So I could analyse your attitude and behavior and tell you what I see. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Someone once told me: "I have a strange feeling about you. I feel that you don't keep anything just for yourself, which is strange nowadays". I really like to offer, but I can never name things that I can offer ... it depends on the needs of every person.
