ABOUT ME

We met in art school and have been collaborating on art commissions together for the past 25 + years. Through our partnership, Site Painters, we create paintings, murals, sculptures for public spaces -- medical centers, schools, restaurants, libraries, etc. We spend time in the studio working on personal paintings and sculptures as well. Leading art workshops in elementary and high school classes is another interest of ours. We have one daughter, now 19 who is anticipating starting college fall '10 after a break of two years, traveling and participating in various service projects in the US and Latin America.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe every person has his/her role in this evolving earth cycle. The beauty of this potential is constantly unfolding if one stays conscious and relates to one another with respect and love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We were recently introduced to couchsurfing by our daughter who has now tried it out several times and raves about the possibilities.

Interests

We enjoy hiking, spending time in nature, making art, listening to music, reading, going to movies and plays, sharing dinner and conversation with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

International movies and music, i.e.,Indian ragas, Irish folk songs, klezmer jazz, western classical.
Books -- psychology and spiritual philosophies, novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Giving birth and meeting such a new soul.
2) The Grand Canyon and the Milky Way seen that night from the Canyon.
3) Swimming in the ocean off the Oregon coast.
4) Climbing Mt. Whitney
5) Seeing Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and his sculptures, Day and Night.

Teach, Learn, Share

We could share our experiences in the creative visual process -- exploring color through paint, form making through charcoal. Also, making fun craft projects, from paper collages and sculptures to block printing. We like to cook and bake and have lots of recipe ideas.

We would love to learn about other places from people with first-hand experience traveling there -- learning about unusual places, hearing about their insights and suggestions. It's always great to learn about new creative happenings anywhere around the world -- performances, exhibits, amazing natural phenomena, cool coffee shops.
