About Me

Walking around in Prague, we met a guy who tried to sell us something. When he suddenly mentionned Babylon: if you get to this particular subway station, you'll have a crazy ride through your night. Everything's possible there. Make sure you pass by. As we took the subway and ended up near to a Kaufmart and the cheapest A&O ever, we slowly started to realize that we were just a few Czech letters away from the real Babylon. Once in a while we remenice: what would it have been like if we ended up there?

I guess 'about me' must be talking about finding my Babylon ever since. In my 20s, and more curious than ever. Based in Brussels, ended up in India, Sri Lanka, China, and soon to come Colombia and Ecuador. Trying to take the bus through Europe now, dreaming of a bus tour all the way to Morocco or a 'Mongol Rally' through Kirgizistan to Mongolia. Whatever comes on the way, we are capable of it. Just do it. I guess you could say I'm an optimist!

I'm passing my time by working as a social cultural worker, which is these days mostly supporting workshops of classifying garbage with toddlers, up to workshops about climate change and a Low Carbon society by 2050 for 17-18 year olds. But most of my days I'm in the studio of my university where I study fine arts.

Balancing in between the cultural and sustainability/enviromental sector, the most important is that I am not passing time. I'm begging for more, more time, more adventures!

As Simone Debeauvoir once said, 'I am awfully greedy; I want everything from life. I want to be a woman and to be a man, to have many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish… You see, it is difficult to get all which I want.' I'm a greedy woman if it comes on a point of life, 'Sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I'm not living.' I'm greedy on life and experiences, on inspiring and pure conversations by moonlight. On new things to learn and new things to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I've been travelling on my own I've learned that it is actually incredibly social. The adventures, discovering something new, although loneliness is necessary from time to time, it's also about meeting locals and other travellers, share experiences and get new perspectives on things. Couchsurfing is a great opportunity for this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Chosing to live and do my internship of 4 months in India. And when I got kicked out of the country, it must be deciding in a few days to book a trip to Sri Lanka and end up there for another month!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could always teach you how to sing, play the guitar or the piano, I might even give some tips and tricks on painting and drawing, but for me I guess the most important is to share different perspectives, learn about another culture and the beautiful daily life of another country.
