Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Laura and I am outgoing, cheerful, energetic, and happy to have the opportunity to travel and meet people! I'm a student currently at the University of Miami where I study information science, technology, creative coding, data and design. I am one of those people who picks up a book and can't put it down - I'll carry it everywhere. I like traveling by train, immersing myself in nature, and playing capoeira.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I hope to meet people from all over the world, exchange stories, and learn from fellow couchsurfers and hosts!
Interests
Capoeira, dancing, cooking, eating, travel, movies (not scary movies, though!) are some of my favorite things. I am also into window shopping at vintage clothing shops, trying great new vegetarian foods, and hiking or camping!

Music, Movies, and Books
Yes, I admit it - I am a huge Miyasaki fan, all of his movies all of the time. I love reading novels of many genres, creative nonfiction, science fiction, and magical realism especially. I really like reading good longform journalism. I love almost any music, but I have a soft spot for music that reveals the history of a place or a culture. My favorite bands include La Santa Cecilia and Cafe Tacvba.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I held a tree frog in the rainforest!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a great sidekick for adventures in the city or in the wild - I can offer a sense of adventure and friendship! I can share cooking skills or I can install Linux on your laptop. If you are interested in learning some Capoeira moves, I could share that too!
