About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To LIVE life. Period.

ABOUT ME

Right so - I was born in Lima, Peru and lived there until I finished off with the IB programme (International Baccalaureate...it's hell) in school, in December 2006. I was planning to go off to Canada to study English Literature...but when the time came I freaked out and wondered why the hell I was doing that?! So I went through a rebellious/confused mini-phase in which I said I wouldnt go to uni because it was crap and I didnt want to blindly follow the path society had set for us all and whatnot (blah blah). I calmed down and decided I'd go when I felt I was ready - the parents went crazy, of course (VERY unusual to take a gap year in Peru), but they learnt to love me in the end. After that, I travelled and lazed about for a bit, and worked in Miami to save some money to go to India and Thailand in July 2008...however, the plans have changed again. Gone back to the original plan, somewhat, so Im now aiming at studying in Canada again, but instead of English Literature, I have chosen Political Science. In the meantime, I've come back home and am working at my old school. Perhaps Im not the hippie girl I used to be...but nonetheless, I keep enjoying life the best I can! So yes - there you go...this is my life story for the time being. Cheers to all!

PHILOSOPHY

Well, I hadn't updated this 'personal philosophy' section in a year, and I have come to realise that I’ve changed greatly. While the last thing I wrote here focused mainly on spirituality and my old Eastern ways of thinking, I find myself now more inclined to the Western ways, once again. I, however, do agree with some of the things I said before...for example: "I now see that life is not about grades, it's not about money, it's not about what job or position you have...life is about living it! About enjoying it, feeling it...it's about LIVING as opposed to SURVIVING." This, I still believe to be true. While in the past I said this and then moved on to talk about how it is more important to be able to take a deep breath and say that you're happy than to get a degree from a prestigious university (now I disagree with that, somewhat), I now think the same thing, but looking at it from a different perspective. Achieving happiness is what I believe should always be our goal. If you start walking down a path that will lead you to survive throughout your life instead of living it, then something must be done to fix that, because just 'surviving' won't lead you to feel happy, and if one's not happy with life, then that will lead them nowhere. We've only got one life, we should appreciate it as that, and live it to the fullest, going always after our dreams, making them become true, and, if possible, always doing something to help those we're in position to help. However, even though you can and should do whatever you want with your life, everyone else's thoughts should always be respected, and you should never try to impose your own personal idea or view as THE truth...what's your 'truth' may not be someone else's. To me, if you truly follow your ideals while respecting everyone else's as well, life should go by smoothly and happily. Yeah...I think that pretty much sums up my 'personal philosophy' for now!
