Hello! I'm Laura and am originally from Cuba, but I came with my family to Miami when I was 2 yrs old. Since that time, I have lived and worked professionally in Miami for most of my life, and only when I was 27 yrs old did I venture out and move to Paris for a year as an Au Pair. That’s where I met Sandrine, my now wife of 8 years (very Paris romance cliché, but still a beautiful story)

I have always worked as a social studies teacher, but now instead of in person, I am working for an online virtual reality school so I get to work from anywhere in the world. I moved more permanently to France in Sep. 2020, but I often go back to Miami for work and family, since all of my immediate family is still in Miami.

I love to share my travels with students and bring that international perspective to a US classroom. I love learning about different customs, traditions, and policies, and just hanging out and understanding another world view.

Life is Complete. I think the most amazing thing I've done is in my daily struggle to be a human being and not a human doing. I have accomplished occasional moments of true presentness where I felt in tune with the oneness of everyone/thing in the universe.
