Hello! This is Laura. Thank you for taking the time to read this. When it comes to describing myself, it's a bit difficult to put into simple words, but let's start with the fact that I am proudly Peruvian, specifically from Lima and Piura, two coastal cities in Peru. I grew up watching surfers ride the cold waves of the Pacific and enjoying delicious ceviche. Shortly before turning 18, I decided to move to Turkey on my own to continue my studies. It was my first time crossing into another continent, and I consider myself brave for doing that and for many other things.
I’m someone who enjoys both nature and the fast-paced rhythm of the city. We only have one life, so why limit ourselves to just one side of it? On another note, I can’t talk about myself without mentioning my family. We’re a close-knit group of four, and despite the distance, we show each other a lot of love. With that said, I’m a very affectionate person—I enjoy listening and being listened to.
Living in Turkey has opened my eyes to the diversity of cultures, languages, and religions. I attend a university with a large international community, and I have friends from all over the world. This experience has taught me the value of respect and empathy towards others. I love animals, science, painting, drawing, and I also enjoy writing in my spare time.

I’m on Couchsurfing because I want to discover the world in a different way. Hospitality and helping others are values that have always been practiced in my home, and through this community, I want to embark on an adventure to experience what true reciprocity can create.

I volunteered as a speaker in the environmental field for a non-profit organization aimed at promoting youth leadership in Peru, Brazil, and Argentina.

I still can't believe I saw whales so close to me being on a yacht in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! 😃
