About Me

I am trying to explore creativity.

I would imagine they might say I'm very friendly and am interested in meeting new people. I enjoy socializing and having fun with others and yet I also have a quiet side were I might be seen sipping on a cup of coffee and reading a book or having a great conversation with a friend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I enjoy traveling and try to explore that interest as much as I can. Finding a way to connect with people who are living in these places which I travel to has been a great way to experience a more authentic version of what it is like to live in these lesser known regions to me.

Interests

Hmm I have a range of interests... there is a part of me which is active and enjoys hiking, going for long walks, traveling and exploring new cultures. Another side which is more introspective with interests in painting, reading beautiful writing and poetry (some favorites being Mary Oliver, W.B. Yeats, Rumi, Jack Kerouac and Kahlil Gibran) and having deeper sorts of conversations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling to Northern India, specifically Leh has been a moment in my life which I will not forget. I made my way to that corned of the world in 2011 and spent a few weeks within this region in the Himalayan Mountains. While I was there I befriended some other travelers and we decided to backpack throughout the mountains for a week. While on this walk we spent almost every hour of daylight walking throughout the high mountain passes, deserty landscape, stopping from time to time at small food stands managed by locals of an extremely remote area, grabbing a bite to eat so that we might make our way to the magnificent views which awaited us at the peaks of these mountains. Imagine mountainous lanscapes for as far as your eyes could see, in colors of blues and purples.

I have also felt awestruck when really meaningful connections are made with other people. A time that especially sticks out in my memory is while I was attending a school in Sweden for a year where I met some incredible friends. The course we were doing provided an immense opportunity for the development of our group and ourselves too. It was amazing to see the initial connections we made upon first arriving change into friendships that would maintain a depth for years to come.
