Hello!

My name is Laurel, I am a happy-go-lucky Colombian who would love nothing more than to travel to every corner of the globe and experience everything this world has to offer.

Two years ago I set out on my first adventure and left Colombia for the United States. I worked in San Francisco, CA for a year as an au pair, looking after two adorable twins then i moved to a small town in Virginia, USA, working as an au pair for a wonderful host family. I took care of their two little boys and I love it. Working with kids is such a rewarding experience and I'm grateful for all the opportunities this country gave me. Now i am back in Colombia but i piece of my heart will always stay in US.

I'm a really easy going person, and I love to learn things. I think that travelling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures is perfect for personal development, and I intend to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be!

I love to meet new people and hear their stories. I want to make friends with people from all over the world, and I think couchsurfing is a great way to build lasting friendships. I also love the idea of staying with locals; they can give a much more informative and colourful perspective on the area you want to explore, which I think makes for a richer travelling experience than just checking an online guide.

I like classic rock (Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Who, AC/DC , Kiss, The Rolling Stones) I also like reggae, salsa, and of course, Colombian music.

I like horror, action, romantic, comedies... any kind of movie!

I used to work for an extreme sports agency which allowed me to take part in all sorts of activities such as rafting, rappelling, hiking. My favourite part of the job was always the happiness I brought to my clients - seeing it on their faces made me feel really good inside.

We can share new experiences, stories and lots of fun! I like to consider myself as someone with a pretty unique personality - I like to dance in the streets and sing (even though I have a horrible voice), I love to make people happy and I'm always laughing :)
