About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world, but more immediately, the United States.

ABOUT ME

I am studying Cultural Anthropology and Women's Studies at UNC Chapel Hill. I figure whatever I do I won't make much money but at least I can travel and feel passionate about my work. I work at a Mediterranean Restaurant and plan to name my next pet Baba Ghannouj. I also teach med/nursing students how to give effective, comfortable, educational, and empowering breast and pelvic exams. I am a feminist. I am an activist. I love most activities that put these two things together. I am very independent, adaptable, and loving. Having/creating a new experience usually takes priority over most things for me (i.e. sleep or homework).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am just a beginner, but hopefully on October 21st I will have my first couch surfing experience!

Interests

I am mostly interested in people. But small birds, prison reform, sexuality, and snakes eating things are pretty high up on the list too.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite authors include Jonathan Safran Foer, Tom Robins, John Irving, Kurt Vonnegut, Annie Dillard, and I am just now getting to know Cormac McCarthy.
I love many movies but a few that have stuck with me are The Gods Must Be Crazy, Amelie, All the Real Girls, Johnny Stecchino (rent this right now), El Orfanato and The Shining (I'm a sucker for well made, suspenseful, scary movies), High Fidelity, and City of God.
Although I like a lot of music, above all else, I love singing songs with my friends while camping or on a long car ride home. Besides that though here is a small sample: The Pixies, Billy Bragg, The Smiths, Arcade Fire, Beirut, Bob Dylan, Lauryn Hill, Johnny Cash, The Flaming Lips, The Mountain Goats, Vampire Weekend, and any music that my friends make.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been wanting to learn how to milk a cow for a while.
