About Me
Dear future hosts and friends!
I'm Laure, I come from Alsace in France, a region on the border with Germany and Switzerland, and am currently studying in England where I've now lived for 4 amazing years. I was last year on my erasmus year in Salzburg, Austria, where I've lived an entire year full of music, Strudel and european traveling. So as you might guess I am a real travel lover!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is to me a great way to discover the culture of another country in a much more authentic way, than by sticking to the big touristic attractions, or diving your nose in a guide book. I have previous experiences of being hosted by inhabitants and keep a very found memory of it. It is not always obvious to meet the natives/inhabitants of the country you visit, but if you can it is truly priceless and makes your stay a very unique experience. With couchsurfing I really hope to live, eat, talk, and breath local! And why not, make some new friends across the world?

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a big Jazz lover, any song where I can hear brass instruments in general drives me a bit out of my mind. My great-grand-father played the saxophone and I now try as best as I can to pick it up. I do love balkan and hispanic music from Compay segundo, to Beirut and Goran Bregovi, wherever there is an air of brass it's for me. Concerning movies I like the classics as well as the contemporary experimental court-metrages. I have a little crush on Fellini's movies, European new wave and expressionist movies, Bergman's Personae, Tarkovsky's Mirrors, Ozu's Tokyo Story, and dark disturbing German modernist and post-modernist movies and literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling on my own. I've been backpacking in Switzerland for 2 weeks, just me the road and the mountains. Everyday I was bathing in a different lake early in the morning, so no one would see. That was freedom I think.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love cooking, people say I'm not bad! I'm really keen on learning, so I can follow and share with you my French and Austrian recipes. Fluent in French, English and currently making a desperate effort to learn German, I am quiet a talkative person who really enjoy picking new languages, and meeting new people. Tell me about you, your country, your language and I am sure I can share something of my experience living in France and abroad.
What I Can Share with Hosts
