About Me

I am a mom of 5. I still have 3 boys living at home. 2 are in high school.
We are a "workaway host family" and we absolutely love it! We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and think it's fantastic that we can share cultural experiences with each other. I love to create, paint, cook, enjoy challenges and new experiences. We have a garden house where we host our guests. If it’s full, we have a couple other places in the house to sleep. Alternatively, a tent can always be a place to sleep.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My daughter and I have gone on some adventures together, and have always enjoyed meeting new people. Getting together with others helps broaden our experiences while sharing our own at the same time.

My whole family have only been couch surfing a couple times. It's a bit much for me to ask for a family of 7 to fit on someone's couch :)

Interests

Cooking, cheesemaking, photography, sketching, painting, crocheting, cycling, hiking and camping. I'm a doula, Loss doula and birth advocate.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmmm....I enjoy a plethora of music. 70’s & 80’s are a fav. Jazz, rock, classical, & eclectic.
Action movies....of course comedy, romance and definitely Sci-fi.

I love cookbooks, but rarely follow a recipe. Green living book, child rearing books, and self awareness books are mostly what's on my shelves. Anything to better myself and encourage my children to learn whole heartedly with a passion for life and food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky-diving! That was truly amazing!! Giving birth to 5 amazing children was an experience I would never trade for anything. Zip lining I’m Costa Rica was unforgettable. My missions trip to Africa was heart warming and heart breaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach cheese making, along with other forms of dairy products. I’m happy to share the various cuisines I’ve learned from my Workawayer’s from dozens of countries who have visited.

I Enjoy new experiences, learn from others, and willing to share the life altering experiences I've had over the years.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Warm, open minded conversations. I love to cook. So would be in my element creating a meal with you. Working as a team.
