Overview
About Me
Here’s what’s written on my name tag: Laura, studies Geosciences in Halle, in her twenties. You’ll get the idea.
One funny consequence of studying Geosciensces is being crazy about rocks, stones, soil, and hiking – though I’m trying to hide it.
What else? I’m kinda into DIY – sewing, knitting, cooking/ baking (mostly vegan), upcycling, crafting, finding a purpose for useless stuff and so on. Last year I started a little garden project and grew my own vegetable. As you can imagine a little motivation to do most of this is making life a little more sustainable. So yes, I am a friend of my environment and do care about my impact on it.
The rest about me you better find out yourself.
PHILOSOPHY
I’m a fan of the concept minimalism because I think the more you own, the less you’re free. Still I’m very far from getting rid of my possessions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think you can spend ages in a city visiting museums, touristic sights and shopping malls but you’ll never get to know a place unless you don’t know its people.
Interests
Doing music and listening to it is my passion. I play the drums in a band but I also like playing percussion, guitar and whatever makes a sound. Recently I’m trying to teach myself to play accordion.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music has a wide range from Folk to Alternative or Indie rock. Add a little bit of electronic influences or make it sound some kind of punk-hardcore(ish) and I'd probable like it. A new thing I discovered for myself is swing music and dance.
Unfortunately l rarely spend my time reading although I like it. But if I do I prefer fantasy stories. Same thing with movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My big adventure was definitely my time in India. I travelled from the centre to the south to the north and to the west, did some exiting jobs along the way as an exchange for accommodation and met so many great and kind people.
But also travelling Europe by hitchhike is and experience I can recommend.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am not a good teacher but if you want to learn the basics of drumbeats or German, I will try to teach. As an exchange I would be happy to learn all kind of new skills.
