It's the best way to learn new cultures, immerse oneself in the country and see it from the perspective of a local, the experience is so much more when you meet people who aren't just tourists and other backpackers in a hostel!
Of course when I return to Australia I hope to return the favour to other travellers and open up my doors and help others discover my country's best bits!

I have a spare room with a single bed, close to Cairns city by bike or bus stop at the door, walking is about 30mins. I have two cats also. I can give you lots of tips on what to see and do in the area.
