About Me

Two years ago I went on my first solo trip to Europe from my home in Canada. Since then, travelling, connecting with new people, and having new experiences has been a big priority in my life. This summer I'll be back in Europe, partly for an internship in Romania and partly to see as much of Eastern/Central Europe as I can.

When I'm at home I spend a lot of my time studying (health sciences/epidemiology) and working (teaching small kids how to swim and sometimessssss saving people from drowning), but in my free time I really like checking out local art and music, doing makeup, photography, and going outside (if the rain ever stops.... which is rare for the west coast). Since I work at a pool, I also spend a majority of my time in some form of water, so I'm hoping to find some chances to swim a bit during my vacation... :-) I also like going out with friends (especially new friends in a new place), so I'm looking forward to using CS to connect with likeminded people. I would say that I am introverted at heart but laughing and joking about things is a huge part of my personality... I just appreciate silence also :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like most couchsurfers, I'm looking to meet local people while I travel and maybe see a part of the cities I visit that I wouldn't if I was just in a hostel or hotel. That being said, I am very independent (solo traveller here) and can easily go out on my own if my host is busy or needs some alone time. I don't have many expectations or requirements for the people I meet on CS, but would love to hear about other people's life experiences/stories and if you'd like to go out with me and get coffee/drinks and see cultural sights or nightlife, even better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Run from a sauna into the Baltic Sea on a tiny island in the Finnish Archipelago-- not as cold as expected.

Teach, Learn, Share

I worked at a Japanese restaurant so my sushi knowledge is much better than an average white person!
I am also killer at cross stitch and can teach you how to do it.
I don't really know what "Canadian cuisine" is beyond poutine and maple syrup, but I like to cook for people.

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, England, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Mexico, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
