About Me

Pleased to e-meet you! My name is Lauren and I'm from Melbourne. I just finished up my first degree in Media, and hope that the future will hold world of opportunities for me, possibly in the realm of documentary filmmaking if luck has anything to do with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm about to embark on my first solo-travel adventure to Japan, so I'm looking for some places to stay whilst learning about the world of okonomiyaki & deers who try to eat all your food. Towards the end of my trip my friend and I are meeting up, and we hope to find some awesome places to couch surf so that we can get a real feel for Japanese culture!

Interests

This may be slightly non-unique for me to admit, but by interests are in film and music! I love the feelings you can get from watching a good film, especially documentaries. And my love for music extends from the dorky Everly Brothers, to the (arguably) dorkier 90's, right up the smooth sounds of Agnes Obel. I also will never go past having a boogie to any type of Motown music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've accidentally partially answered this question above (haha!) but my favourite films would have to be any in which Bill Nigh stars, any films by Wong Kar Wai, and of course, I love a good doco by Louis Theroux. Music-wise, my favourite song changes every day...today however, it is Taro by alt+J.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn Arabic! It's such a beautiful sounding language.
