My philosophy is to enjoy everything life has to offer - the beauty, the laughter, the heartbreak, the gut-wrenching. We have one life to live and if we don't appreciate the little moments then the little moments pass us by.

I have an insatiable affinity for life and a strong desire to help people. I joke that I have an activist heart, but I really do. When I see injustice or experience it first hand, no one can stop me from doing something about it. I want to try and make the world a better place even if it's on a small, local level.

With all that said, on the surface, I am a marketer for an investment company that invests in sustainable development and redefining capitalism for the better. My job satisfies my two passions - writing and sustainable development. My third love is travel and meeting people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's something that was mentioned to me by a good friend, and I thought why not have an adventure? It's always been a romantic or idealised concept and I have finally found the motivation to do something about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two amazing things:
(1) Moved abroad to a country I had never been to where I didn't know anyone...because the opportunity was there to follow my dream.

(2) While traveling in China, I had tea with an older gentleman that owned a tea shop in a more rural part of Beijing. He knew no English and I knew no Chinese, but we had a lovely afternoon.

I want to learn about the culture and its history, break bread with interesting people, and be taught a new perspective.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm generally a positive person and I believe that when you meet people, it's about sharing stories and learning as much as you can from the other person (if they're willing). I think every person even if you meet them for one day can have an impact, so I believe in making the most of it.

With that said, I can offer stories and a mostly good listening ear as well as general positivity. I know a lot of random trivia as well, so if you're into that I can also assist there. The plus side of being interested in everything the world has to offer is that I can have some decent discussions about life, the universe, and everything (and Douglas Adams as well).
