I am originally from New York and have been living in Montreal for many years. I work in the field of human rights and have been lucky to travel all around the world, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. I absolutely love to cook, and have recently developed a passion for triathlons!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I really love the work I do, and have been lucky to work with incredibly inspiring people, but am also ready for a change. After ten years of having professional jobs, all I want to do is play outside! I'd love something more creative and the opportunity to get my hands dirty. So I've decided to take a year off from work as of June, and am planning on spending it in Latin America - starting in Mexico, and then perhaps Chile, Argentina, Uruguay... No specific plans yet, and hoping to find lots of inspiration along the way. Would love to be near the ocean and hopefully find work in a restaurant or an a farm - something to do with food for sure.

So... I've just joined Couchsurfing in the hopes of meeting interesting people during my year off, who can tell me what they love about where they live, and give me idea for what I should explore.

I’ve been a feminist activist since I was a kid.
I absolutely love Christmas!
I love the ocean, and really enjoy long-distance swimming. It's my favorite part of the triathlon.
I love jazz and want to get back to playing piano
I love to cook. Really, really, really love it. And hosting extravagant dinner parties!

I really enjoy jazz, but appreciate lots of different music

I read a lot. Siri Hustvedt, Elizabeth Hay, Sylvia Plath, Doris Lessing and Joan Didion are some authors that have recently captured my imagination. Just realized that I tend to read women authors in English and men authors in French – not sure why that is.
