Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always been up for meeting new people, hosting visitors, and picking up the occasional hitchhiker. I have hosted and I have surfed through through CS, and I love it all.

That being said - I have noticed an influx of requests from people with blank profiles and zero references lately. I'm not saying that I will definitely not accept anyone with no references, but the answer will be no if I am left with the impression that you are just looking for a free hostel type of experience with no intention of giving back to the CS community. I am looking to meet people who I mesh well with and my aim is for the experience to be enriching for both parties.
