I am a happy, outgoing man (eternal child really) and love meeting new people and sharing experiences. I'm very easygoing and love to help others if I can.
The reason I started travelling was watching Bond films as a kid. I remember seeing 007 travelling to some fantastic places and always dreamed of following him. So being a bit of a geek whenever I visit a country where Bond has been filmed, I try to make it to the film set.
Currently I'm doing up my house with the mind to let it out and do some serious world travel. There so many places I still want to visit, not the least being the Antarctic and South America. Once those two are done, I would have been to all 7 continents.
I'm also in competition with my Aussie best friend (and lodger). He is 9 years older than me and so far he's done 62 countries worldwide. I've only done a measly 27. Unfortunately I was a late bloomer with travel, so now I have to do at least 4 countries a year to catch up with him.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In all honesty I don't earn a lot, so between keeping my mortgage going, paying bills and trying to see at least 4 countries a year, I don't have a lot of money. Plus it gives me an opportunity to chat to fellow travellers and learn about the places they've been and experiences and include them to my "Got to visit" list.
