ABOUT ME
I am an easy going, friendly person. My mission in life is to remain as chilled as possible, regardless of the shit that life throws at us :) I love travelling, and all that goes with it; meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, learning snippets of new languages, absorbing myself in their history, endlessly eating new food ;) and above all, making friends across the globe. I love to read and buy cheap books. I can often be found listening and dancing randomly to music, live or other, with a beer in one hand and a spliff in the other. I have a fascination with eastern europe, Stalinist Russia, 18th century history and pretty much anything related to history. Castles and museums are a big must see. I am new to the world of snowboarding, but it will be mastered even if it kills me. I am a very sociable person, who is normally always laughing or at least smiling, i could be described as slightly mad, although i prefer the term odd.
PHILOSOPHY
Tough one. I guess to enjoy myself as much as money can afford, but not in an entirely selfish sense, just trying to have a content life that I am passionate about. Rather than finding myself dragged down by money, 9-5 jobs and a mortgage. I feel we have a duty to our environment, to try and protect it, animals included. Respect one another, a smile goes a long way. Celebrate our differences, rather than fight all the bloody time.
Interests
Eating, cooking, sitting, walking, snowboarding, reading, writing, laughing, joking, playing, dancing, learning, cuddling, drinking, exploring, gardening, wearing moustaches, sleeping, getting up late, talking, being around people, swimming, relaxing, sharing music, good coffee, men, smoking, stumbling after dark, admiring the world we live in (through a monacle) :p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Blimey. I guess the experience I am most grateful for, and most proud of, was going to Poland to teach english at 18. Having never been before, or at that time not knowing anything about the place was a little scary. Being placed in a convent, in a dirty mining town for 6 months was a challenge and took some deep breaths. But it's by far the most amazing thing I've ever done, simply for the relationships I made and the immersion into another culture, and perhaps for making me realise I can try anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
I often thought that when peak oil happens, and we are plunged into a world of primitive living I will be unable to cope! I can't knit or sew, so making my own clothes is out of the question. I barely ply musical instruments, I can't sing. I can plant vegetables, and cook. I could tell stories, or teach english, I can bore people to death about history on request. I do have knowledge on natural cosmetics, like making soap, and using oils, and the wonders of fruit and vegetables. But I am yet to be able to make tree houses or rafts.
