About Me
Hello!! My name is Lauren and I am so many things, but I am a very outgoing, caring, and passionate person! Connecting with others deeply is my favorite, I believe every human is special. I try to be as considerate as possible, and I'm always curious and ready to learn. I love to help people!
I have been a licensed massage therapist for over 10 years, and I've been working in Hospice (end-of-life-care) for over a year. I've also worked as a birth and post-partum doula. I've led yoga classes, and different workshops, and I have helped lead women's circles, and breathwork ceremonies. I have a few spiritual mentors and I have sat in a few 10-day silent meditation courses.
I love to sing, play instruments, crochet, sew, and cook!
It is my dream to spend some time Wwoofing (volunteering on organic farms) particularly in Japan!

I have lived in the Chicagoland area for my entire life (when I haven't been traveling)!
Chicago is an amazing place and I'm blessed to have a strong community of creative, heart-centered friends. We love to play music, dance, and commune with the divine. We share strong values of honesty, integrity, empathy, beauty, and purpose. My diverse community is informed by Lakota Native American, Yogic, Indiginous Mexican, and Shipibo South American culture and tradition.
Basically, we like to sit around a campfire and sing songs about love and harmony! We do not drink alcohol. We focus on presence and embodied awareness.
There are many interesting and soul-nourishing events, so if you're visiting Chicago and want to experience spiritual community, please message me. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet other adventurous people and make friends all over the world! I think Couchsurfing is the best way to get to know people, and truly experience a new place like a local.
I love to shine my light, bring good energy, and make connections!
If you can't hang out, don't worry, I like to explore on my own and I'm very self-sufficient. I appreciate just a place to stay and having interesting experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I went to India, I walked with a friend in a big parade of men with swords put through their cheeks, decorated with flowers and costumes, honoring the Son of Shiva. It was bizarre and amazing!
