Hello all 👋🏼!

I am Lauri, currently based in Helsinki 🇫🇮, now for already 6 years. I started hosting actively in Jan 2025 and I have enjoyed every moment!😍 I believe that hospitality is one of the most important things in the human experience, and I am always looking forward to meeting new people and sharing with them 🫂! 🛠️I am currently working as a PhD researcher in theology after serving as a pastor in a local lutheran parish ✝️.

I initially ran this account with my partner Liina, but after our separation this has been my personal account. Our two cats still sometimes visit my place, so beware of the wonderful and kind Reha and Tupli 🐈‍⬛🐈. They got their Estonian-inspired names based on our adventures volunteering in Estonia years back 🇪🇪. If they happen to be present (most of the time not), they also welcome you to stay 🫶🏼!

Please note that I prefer hosting guests only for 1 or 2 nights. 3 nights is sometimes possible but usually not.😴

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

Being active on this platform has been in my mind for years 🗓️. In the end of 2024, I visited a Taizé meeting in Tallinn and experienced an enormous amount of hospitality and had many meaningful encounters with people all around the world 🙏🏼. Then I thought, why wouldn't I continue this spirit of hospitality and sharing also in my day-to-day life here in Helsinki? This is why I want to open my home, to give and receive 🤗.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

🎵 I play trombone in a symphony orchestra 🎺, so I really enjoy classical music. On top of that, I especially like 1970s prog rock 🎸.

📚 I also enjoy various kinds of literature from all over the world. Some reading projects have been to go through the classics of western literature, as well as the Discworld-series of sir Terry Pratchett 💡.

📺 My biggest passion related to TV series or movies is Star Trek 🖖🏻 although I have not watched the most recent ones.

🎺 Now for the last two autumns we have put up an Oktoberfest brass band with my friends and performed in several pubs in the Helsinki area. We have had a blast playing some traditional German music with Lederhosen on! 🇩🇪🍻
