About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am realising my childhood ambitions to see the far east and learn to meditate, thereafter I want to learn to grow vegetables. I want to see Bali, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. I want to leave my comfort zone and test my capabilities.

ABOUT ME

I am a friendly, if not a little shy, quirky person who can get lost in a good book. I also have a tendency of literally getting lost but every now and then I discover something amazing along the way. I like to travel, experience new things, taste different foods and dance the night away. I love attending music festivals and outdoor activities like sandboarding and rap jumping.

PHILOSOPHY

"We regret more the things we didn't do than the things we did do"
- famous dead person
"Carpe noctem"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this so I just join groups, show up with booze and try to keep it light-hearted and fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently went to the Gent festival and met up with a big group of couch surfers. They were a fun, festive crowd and made dancing to township music an unforgettable experience.

Interests

I love nature and the wild. I enjoy camping and sharing a drink around a camp fire. I have started paying more attention to keeping fit so enjoy sporty activities as much as I love lazing on a sunny beach. I love to read, write, sing (karaoke, obviously) and watch movies and TV shows.

Music, Movies, and Books

Terry Pratchett, Dean Koontz, George R.R Martins, Wilbur Smith, Jasper Fforde,
Constantine,
Soulfly, At the Drive-in, Sepultura, Nostromo, Today is the Day, Mastodon, Regina Spektor, Chevelle,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I slept on a yacht under the stars on a yacht off the coast of Benguera Island in Mozambique. To lie between the bottomless black ocean splashing softly beneath you and a clear black night sky dusted with stars above you is an experience I never dreamed I could have. It opened my mind to the endless opportunities out there, I only had to extend my reach a little further.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: belly dancing, a little rock n roll, beginners yoga, Afrikaans

What I Can Share with Hosts

Amazing sandwich making skills and ridiculous drinking games.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Hungary, Laos, Luxembourg, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Netherlands, South Africa, Thailand
