Crazy English boy, living all over the world for years now.

I have reached a level of freedom that most people dream of. Partly that’s my privilege, partly I created it. I do believe in the power of prayer, or manifestation, or whatever.

What to do with all that freedom? Learning languages, exploring, and trying to understand other cultures and people seems like a valuable way to spend my life for now.

I have some characteristics of ADHD+autism. Or maybe I’m just a genius. Or an asshole. Probably all of the above.

I take a lot of weird photos, and I've made a couple of arty documentaries. I am deeply interested in all forms of art. Also philosophy, psychology, history, psychedelics — pretty much everything. I’m always learning.

Right now I'm studying Chinese history, as well as the contemporary Chinese economic, social and geopolitical situation. Also Mandarin.

I'm particularly interested in connections between altered states of consciousness, mindful relating and embodiment practices, and philosophy in the Socratic tradition.

I've been practicing Nichiren Buddhism every day since I was 17. I also do yoga daily.

I'm not the typical bright, sunny globetrotter. I can be very moody, depressive, ironic and self-absorbed. I've been struggling with depression, despair, resentment, anxiety — the darker aspects of the human spectrum — for most of my life, ever since I was very young, a child.

But the people who know me best see something special in me: a radical authenticity, which is rare in our modern world of simulacrums within simulacrums. They feel they can be totally themselves, without judgement. Because who am I, with my dark heart, to judge?

Well, that's the Russian in me. On the other hand, I also feel very at home in Mediterranean cultures, with their warmth, spontaneity, generosity, and openness to connection and friendship. Such is man: a contradiction. "I contain multitudes" — as we all do.

I’ve made beautiful friendships and had wonderful experiences through Couchsurfing! I've also had some weird or boring experiences and that's totally fine too.

Ultimately, I believe that we manifest our reality based on the deep beliefs we hold in our hearts, and that transforming our fundamental mindset and vibrational state of awareness will inevitably lead to transformations in the life we live. Collectively, we can amplify this potential, elevate the life-state of humankind, and transform our shared karma and bloody history. That is the mission of those living in the 21st century.
