About Me

Hi everyone! I'm a Masters student at Virginia Tech studying French and Spanish language and literature. I like traveling and have been abroad a lot. I can't wait for my next big trip, but I think it will be a few more years, so for now I am happy to discover the US. I'm very interested in meeting new people and discovering new places that make me thing about things a different way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've couchsurfed a few times and have had good experiences (and bad, to be honest). But I still have faith in the idea, I think it's great! It's wonderful that people are willing to open their home to others whom they've never met.

Interests

I like stories, ideas, languages, and people. I'm an on and off Argentine Tango dancer, and I love Argentina. I like hiking and backpacking, although I haven't been on many trips lately. It would be amazing to go backpacking in Patagonia one day:)

Music, Movies, and Books

the departed, city of god, inglourious basterds, pulp fiction, amélie, au revoir les enfants, darjeeling limited, pan's labyrinth, ishmael, narcissus and goldmund, freedom (by jonathan franzen), the great gatsby...music: bluegrass, blues, "folclore", tango, cumbia, jazz, appalachia, folk; I really want to read more borges and cortázar

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sit on the edge of a cliff with a friend and some yerba mate, looking onto a calving glacier with waterfalls pouring out from underneath. There were condors soaring around, and cerro tronador hanging out on the left. The sense of depth and space was great! (It was a the refugio Otto Meiling near Bariloche, really cool place, I highly recommend a visit!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Spanish or French, literary theory if you're interested; argentine tango
